Brad Carson to Step Down as DODs Personnel Readiness Chief

first_imgBrad Carson, who has led Pentagon DOD’s Force of the Future initiative for the past year, will step down as acting undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness in April, the department announced Monday.Carson was appointed to the post by President Obama last April, and in July he was nominated by the president to succeed previous Undersecretary Jessica Wright. The position is responsible for overseeing military and civilian personnel policy and total force readiness, including quality of life.To advance the Force of the Future initiative, Carson led the development of a broad portfolio of proposals to modernize DOD’s civilian and military personnel systems.
