All yearly awards are presented by Ready Nutrition.In addition to her Student-Athlete of the Year honor, Green landed a spot on the First Team Academic All-Conference squad after a stellar senior season on the court and in the classroom. The Dripping Springs, Texas, native holds a perfect 4.0 grade-point average (GPA) as a biology major and concluded her season by helping the Islanders to a 19-12 overall record and an 11-5 run through conference play. Green racked up an impressive seven triple-doubles throughout the year to rank third nationally in the category. She played and started in all 31 of A&M-Corpus Christi’s matches and tabbed 29 double-doubles in 29 along the way. The senior setter was also nominated for the Senior CLASS Award, an honor reserved for NCAA Division I senior student-athletes who have accumulated notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. In addition to being named a First Team All-Conference selection and Southland Setter of the Year, Green also received an Honorable Mention nod from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Further, after being named a 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District first team honoree, Green capped her senior campaign as a CoSIDA Academic All-American for the second-straight year, this time earning first-team distinctions.Green is one of 14 Southland volleyball student-athletes being honored on the 2019 Academic All-Conference squads and one of eight automatic selections on the first team. Five schools are represented among the two teams, led by Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin who tabbed three selections apiece. Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Northwestern State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi round out the rosters with two honorees each.Three of the eight first-team members are making repeat appearances on the academic squad, while five captured automatic all-academic status after earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. Six student-athletes among the two teams have accumulated a seamless 4.0 GPA.The student-athlete of the year award is selected by the Southland Conference awards committee, which consists of one administrator from each of the 13-member universities. The Southland Student-Athlete of the Year award is presented to the one student-athlete who achieves excellence in both academics and athletics. All nominees shall have earned at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale and demonstrated athletics achievement for at least two years at the nominating institution.The all-academic teams are voted on by the head coaches, sports information directors and academic advisors from each Southland Conference institution.
