Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning.PLEASE VOTE: Wilmington’s Annual Town Election is TODAY. Polls are open from 8am to 8pm. There are important contested races for Board of Selectmen (PREVIEW), School Committee (PREVIEW), and Town Moderator (PREVIEW). Not sure what to expect? Click HERE and enter your address.In The Community: The Wilmington Sons of Italy is holding a Motown Dance Party from 7pm to 11pm at the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge (777 South Street). The evening will include a DJ, dancing, raffles, and a door prize. Feel free to bring your own food for the table. Tickets cost $15. To purchase a ticket, contact organizer Alicia Johnson at 978-758-0876. All proceeds to benefit Gifts of Love. Attendees are encouraged to bring diaper donations as part of a diaper drive.In The Community: Meet sports celebrities at Rich Altman’s Sports Card & Memorabilia Boston Show, held on Friday, April 27 (noon to 7pm), Saturday, April 28 (9am to 5pm), and Sunday, April 29 (10am-4pm) at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) in Wilmington.  General admission tickets cost $10.  Children under 8 are FREE.  Tickets must be purchased at the door. Tickets to autograph lines, however, can be purchased in advance on the event’s website HERE.  Please carefully read the varying appearance times, pricing and restrictions for each sports celebrity.  Appearances are subject to change. Learn more HERE.In The Community: It’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day! The public is encouraged surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction. This anonymous drug take-back initiative will take place from 10am to 2pm at the Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street). In addition, there is a sharps waste disposal kiosk in the lobby of the Public Safety Building. All sharps must be in an approved sharps disposal container.On Saturday, April 28, the public may surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction. All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library.In The Community: The Wilmington Food Pantry (142 Chestnut Street) is open from 10am to noon for food donation drop-offs. [Learn more and register HERE.]Leaves/Brush Drop Off: The Wilmington Yardwaste Center on Old Main Street will be open today from 9am to 4pm for the drop-off of leaves and brush. Residents will need to purchase a punch-card for $15 in order to enter the yardwaste center. Punch-cards will be available for purchase through the Collector’s Office at Town Hall and will allow up to 5 vehicle trips to the yardwaste center per card. NO GRASS CLIPPINGS OR STUMPS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Commercial vehicles will not be allowed.
